About Ironcrest Construction

Commercial construction. Honest timelines.

Our story

How Ironcrest Construction got here

Ironcrest started in 2005 with two former site supervisors, a shared truck, and one stubborn conviction: that a commercial project should open on the day the contractor promised, for the price the contractor quoted. They had spent years on job sites watching schedules slip and budgets balloon — and watching clients learn about both far too late. They were sure it didn't have to work that way.

So they built a company around the parts of the job most contractors treat as afterthoughts: planning the work before breaking ground, keeping clients informed every single week, and putting one accountable person on each site instead of a rotating cast. The weekly photo update — now the thing clients mention most in their reviews — started as a simple habit between two supervisors who believed an owner should never have to wonder what was happening to their building.

Twenty years and more than 340 projects later, that conviction still runs the company. Ironcrest has grown from two people into a full commercial general contractor with in-house crews and a roster of trusted trade partners across Greater Boston — but the promise is unchanged: an honest timeline, a transparent budget, and a building delivered when we said it would be.

Our mission

To make commercial construction predictable. We exist to give business owners and tenants the one thing the industry rarely delivers: an honest timeline, a transparent budget, and a building completed on the day we promised.

What we stand for

Our values

Tell the truth early

Bad news doesn't age well. If something threatens the schedule or the budget, you hear it from us right away — with options — not on the final invoice.

One job, one owner

Every project has a single accountable lead who is on-site daily and answers their phone. Accountability isn't shared across a committee; it has a name.

Build it like we'll have to stand behind it

Because we will. In-house crews, real quality control, and a closeout you can rely on — we build for the day three years out when you call about a warranty.

Respect the client's clock

A lease date, an opening day, a financing milestone — these are real deadlines with real consequences. We treat your schedule as if it were our own.

Daniel Roarke

Co-Founder & Principal

Daniel co-founded Ironcrest in 2005 after more than a decade running commercial job sites across Boston. He still personally reviews every project budget before it goes to a client, and he's the reason the weekly photo update became company gospel. Clients describe him as direct, unflappable, and allergic to surprises.

  • OSHA 30-Hour certified
  • 20+ years in commercial construction

Specialties: Pre-construction planning · Budget strategy · Owner relationships

Marcus Whitfield

Co-Founder & Director of Field Operations

Marcus came up through the trades as a carpenter and site supervisor before co-founding Ironcrest. He built the company's in-house crews and still sets the standard for how an Ironcrest site is run — clean, safe, sequenced, and on schedule. If a project is complex or occupied, Marcus is usually the one who planned the phasing.

  • 25+ years in the field

Specialties: Field operations · Phased & occupied builds · Trade coordination

Priya Anand

Fifteen years on Boston job sites mean very little surprises him, and nothing rattles the schedule on his watch.

  • OSHA 30-Hour certified
  • First Aid / CPR certified
